Privacy Policy for Motivare

1. Introduction

TechBasi LLC ("we," "our," or "us") built Motivare ("the App") as a discipline-focused motivational quote application. This Privacy Policy explains how the App handles your information. We are committed to protecting your privacy and have designed Motivare with a privacy-first approach.

The short version: Motivare operates entirely offline and does not collect, transmit, or store any of your personal data on external servers.

2. Information We Do NOT Collect

Motivare does not collect, transmit, or have access to any of the following:

  • Personal identification information (name, email, phone number)
  • Location data or GPS coordinates
  • Device identifiers (IDFA, GAID, or similar)
  • Usage analytics or behavioral data
  • Crash reports sent to external services
  • IP addresses or network information
  • Browsing or search history
  • Contacts, photos, or media
  • Health, fitness, or biometric data
  • Financial or payment information

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

Motivare stores the following data exclusively on your device using local storage (UserDefaults on iOS). This data never leaves your device except as described in Section 4.

  • Favorite Quotes — Quotes you choose to save for quick access
  • Theme Preferences — Your selected visual theme (Clean Light, Deep Focus, or Warm Sunrise)
  • Background Color Preferences — Your chosen background color mode and pinned color selection
  • Notification Settings — Whether daily reminders are enabled and your preferred reminder time
  • Onboarding Status — Whether you have completed the initial app setup

This data is stored locally and is not accessible to TechBasi LLC or any third party.

4. Device Features and Permissions

Local Notifications

Motivare can send daily motivational reminders via local notifications. These notifications are generated and scheduled entirely on your device. No notification data is sent to external servers. You can enable or disable notifications at any time through the App's settings or your device's system settings.

Home Screen Widgets

Motivare supports home screen widgets on iOS (via WidgetKit). Widget data is shared between the App and the widget extension using App Groups on iOS. This data remains entirely on your device.

Wearable Device Sync

Motivare supports syncing quotes to paired wearable devices:

  • Apple Watch — Quotes are synced from your iPhone to Apple Watch using Apple's WatchConnectivity framework. This is a direct, local communication protocol between your paired devices. Data does not pass through any external server.

Wearable sync only transfers the daily motivational quotes needed for display on your watch, watch app, tiles, and complications.

Quote Sharing

Motivare allows you to share quotes using your device's native share functionality. When you choose to share a quote, the content is passed to your device's share sheet. TechBasi LLC does not track, log, or have visibility into what you share or which apps you share to.

5. Third-Party Services

Motivare does not integrate with any third-party analytics, advertising, tracking, or data collection services. The App contains:

  • No analytics SDKs (no Google Analytics, Firebase Analytics, Mixpanel, etc.)
  • No advertising frameworks (no AdMob, Facebook Ads, etc.)
  • No crash reporting services (no Crashlytics, Sentry, Bugsnag, etc.)
  • No social media SDKs
  • No tracking pixels or beacons

6. Data Security

All data stored by Motivare is protected by your device's built-in security measures, including:

  • Device-level encryption (when enabled on your device)
  • Biometric authentication (Face ID, Touch ID, fingerprint)
  • Device passcode/PIN protection

Since no data is transmitted to external servers, there is no risk of server-side data breaches affecting your Motivare data.

7. Data Retention and Deletion

All Motivare data is stored locally on your device. You have complete control over your data:

  • Delete specific data: Clear your favorites or reset preferences within the App's settings
  • Delete all data: Uninstall the App or clear the App's data through your device's system settings

Once deleted, data cannot be recovered by TechBasi LLC, as we never had access to it.

8. Children's Privacy

Motivare does not collect personal information from anyone, including children under the age of 13. The App displays only motivational quotes and does not contain user-generated content, social features, in-app purchases, or advertising. Motivare is safe for users of all ages.

9. International Data Transfers

Motivare does not transfer any data internationally or otherwise, as all data remains on your local device. There are no servers, databases, or cloud services involved in the App's operation.

10. Compliance

Because Motivare does not collect, process, or store personal data on external systems, the App inherently aligns with major privacy regulations:

  • GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation) — No personal data is processed; traditional data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are automatically satisfied as all data resides on your device under your control.
  • CCPA/CPRA (California Consumer Privacy Act) — No personal information is sold, shared, or collected for commercial purposes.
  • COPPA (Children's Online Privacy Protection Act) — No personal information is collected from users of any age.
  • Apple App Store Guidelines — Compliant with Apple's App Tracking Transparency and privacy nutrition label requirements.

11. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be reflected by updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this document. We encourage you to review this Privacy Policy periodically. Given the App's offline nature and lack of data collection, changes are expected to be minimal.
